Public Library in April, celebrating National Poetry Month with a
rousing evening of exciting classic narrative poetry.
This special evening edition of the Library's Grown-Up Storytime will
be from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13 in Loucks Auditorium at Salem
Public Library, 585 Liberty St. SE. The event is free and open to the
public with seating on a first-come, first-seated basis.
Readers will employ their best dramatic techniques to bring life to
well-loved classics, including:
● The Walrus and the Carpenter by Lewis Carroll
● John Henry by Anonymous
● The Cremation of Sam McGee by Robert W. Service
● Midnight Ride of Paul Revere by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
● Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge
● The Charge of the Light Brigade by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
● The Pied Piper of Hamelin by Robert Browning
Stories at Grown-Up Storytime are intended for an audience of
grown-ups, but are suitable for younger listeners with good attention
spans.
The program is free with seating on a first-come, first-seated basis.
