Rock the Renaissance for Teen's at Salem Public Library

Retro goes to a whole new level as Salem Public Library steps way, way
back in a celebration of Renaissance era glory.

Middle and high school-aged youth are invited to Rock the Renaissance:

6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, April 28
Anderson Rooms A&B at Salem Public Library, 585 Liberty St. SE.

This event is free, with pre-registration recommended at through the
"My Calendar" link at the Salem Public Library website,
www.salemlibrary.org, or at the Teen Library Service Desk,
503-588-6364.

Middle and high school-aged youth will (in modern dress or their best
Renaissance garb) to tap into their juggling, joking jester alter-egos;
build a mini-catapult and try a little target practice; and bust a rhyme
with Renaissance greats William and Christopher Marlowe at the RenSlam
microphone. Salem Classical Fencing will be on hand to demonstrate and
oversee a little hand-to-hand sword play.
