Saturday Brings Bike Magic and Green Living to Pringle Creek Community

If you just think of bicycling as only a weekend activity, check out the some of the possibilities for transformation in this short film, "If I Ride"!

On Saturday, workshops on green living and sustainable transportation will offer a taste of some of this - treats for the spirit, mind, and body!

October 16th the MyPeace project is holding an all-day workshop at Painter's Hall at the Pringle Creek Community, 3911 Village Center Drive, Salem, 97302.

Flex your mind and body together as Indigo Wellness offers a FREE one-hour yoga session - 8 to 9:15 a.m.

For your mind the Salem Bicycle Club and Scott's Cycle are sponsoring two seminars: a) master recycling and b) intro to bicycle commuting - 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

And for your body, there are presentations (from 2 - 4 p.m.) on bike maintenance, rules and regulations of the road and other aspects of commuting by bicycle.

At 4pm following the presentations, the Flow Riders, the teen bicycle team from the Boys and Girls Club, will lead a ride from Pringle Creek Community, a short, easy route to show new riders how easy it is to navigate Salem's city streets safely, throughout the year.

The streets of Pringle Creek Community are quiet and calm, and this will be a terrific place to learn new skills!

So if you're interested in the mental and physical benefits of exercise, in low-carbon transport, and in creativity - come to Painter's Hall on Saturday.
