Have you ever seen a movie at Salem Cinema? Would you like to? Now is the time to do it. I heard from a friend today that the owner started the movie out by giving a plea to patrons to keep coming and tell their friends to come as well. Apparently low attendance is causing her to think about having to close her doors. I, personally, would hate to see that happen because I LOVE being able to see independent movies and other interesting picks at Salem Cinema. Seeing a movie at the Cinema is almost like having a friend with really good movie tastes pick out movies for you. Every one of them seems to have something going for it even if its not totally my style.
So please, even if its just so that I can continue to see movies there, go see a film at the Salem Cinema. And soon. And tell your friends.
Thanks Salemites!
I very rarely go to see movies anymore. Last time I went to one was Shutter Island directed by Martin Scorsese. Great film but hard to watch because it was so creepy. Next time I go out I'll try to make it over there.
ReplyDeleteIt would be fun to post a day and time to see how many people we could gather at the cinema to show our support.
ReplyDeleteWe recently went to a movie here and loved the atmosphere. Thanks for sharing this post - I'll pass it on. Hate to see the local businesses struggling!
ReplyDeleteI think everyone on the Salemites blog should repost Loretta's letter to the public. If you take all of our readerships as one we can ensure that this gets known and the market speaks.
ReplyDeleteHow did it go last night?
ReplyDelete@Amberpadilla, @Salemrebekah, @Kblocksom and I all had a great time eating cookies and watching "Ondine".
ReplyDeleteIt was a good movie with humor, humanity, suspense, mystery and a couple of sexy stars. Oh and a sweet, precocious child. Can't wait for Tuesday!
