Bite of Salem Video Online
Popular SJ reporter, K. Williams Brown takes you inside the Bite of Salem. The Bite starts today and runs all weekend at Riverfront Park in Salem. There's local and non local options for food, live music and carnival rides. A group of eatsalem.com folks are planning on heading down there Saturday between noon and 3pm. My first time to the Bite (after 8 years in Salem) was disappointing. With a name like "The Bite" you would think this was a primarily food-oriented event, but it was basically just like any temporary outdoor thing, with loud music, carnival rides, and lots of chain food. In fact, I think there were more chain restaurants represented than local ones - and the food from the local places I tried (TJ's Taqueria and Wooden Nickel) was nothing to write home about.
