First Wednesday July 1st

If it's not already on your calendar it should be. First Wednesday is my favorite ongoing event in Salem. This month's theme is "Spirit of America" in honor of Independence Day on Saturday. The reason I like First Wednesday so much, is that it's an opportunity to socialize with neighbors and old friends from all over town. It's almost a sure thing that you'll run into someone you haven't heard from in awhile. We really have a great downtown and the weather could be in the 90's tomorrow. One place that I'll be sure to stop by is Normandy Guitars for their downtown grand opening next to Cascade Bakery. If you didn't think Salem was cool check out their website and read some of the news articles about the unique instrument maker. And there's plenty of places to eat and drink. I got an email from The Wild Pear advertising free tastes of Salem's newest brewery, Pale Horse Brewing Company. There will be live music all over the place so bring some comfortable sandals and I'll see you down there Wednesday Night.
