SALEM POLICE ASK FOR ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING ROBBER

Salem Police Detectives are asking for assistance in identifying a male suspect who robbed the Maps Credit Union located at 1900 Hines St SE in Salem just before 10:00 am on July 5.
The suspect entered the business just before 10:00 am and handed the teller a note demanding money. No weapon was seen. The suspect is described as a White male adult, 5'04'-5'07" tall, 160-170 lbs-lanky build, short messy hair dyed a dull dark green or purple and wearing a dark colored baseball style cap with a brightly colored design, light colored jacket with bright designs, a bright colored t-shirt with bright designs, a string top closure backpack possibly with a peace sign on the back and baggie pants.
There were no injuries reported in the incident and the suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Salem Police Detective Corporal Mike Baskett at 503-540-2463.
