On June 2, 2012, just after 10:30 am, an unidentified male and female were involved in stealing property from a motel room at the La Quinta Inn, 890 Hawthorne Av SE. The victim was a baseball coach from out of town and had left the door propped on the night latch so that he and his assistants could load up sports equipment. The suspects brazenly stole from the room while the victim was loading his vehicle. The investigation to date has not yielded the names of the suspects.

Salem Police detectives believe the quality of the surveillance photos of the suspects, as well as the vehicle they were operating, is such that this crime should be solvable. The Salem Police department is asking for the public's assistance in bringing justice to this case. If you recognize either of these suspects, or the white Ford pickup with an unknown logo on the door and tailgate, you are asked to telephone Detective Tom Johnson at (503)540-2358.
