SALEM POLICE INVESTIGATING DEATH OF MAN FOUND BY ROADWAY

The deceased victim who was found beside the roadway on Fisher Rd near Devonshire St NE in Salem on the morning of May 22nd has been identified as 21-year old Devan R Matlock of Salem.

An autopsy conducted on the victim on the afternoon of May 21 revealed that he died as a result of trauma to the head. The family of the victim has been notified and the investigation into the circumstances of his death are continuing.

Further information will be released as it becomes available.




Salem Police are investigating the death of a man found beside the roadway on Fisher Rd NE just south of the intersection with Devonshire Rd NE early Tuesday morning.

Police received a call at 4:23am from a delivery driver who found the man lying by the roadway. When officers arrived on scene they found that the victim was deceased.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is continuing, and the victim is not being identified at this time pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy has been scheduled for the afternoon of May 22nd in this case.
