POLICE INVESTIGATE SUSPICIOUS DEATH

Occurred Location: Holiday Lodge, 1400 Hawthrone Ave NE, Salem
Reported Time: 7:58pm
Salem Police responded to a report of an assault in one of the motel rooms of the Holiday Lodge. Initially, the caller was not on scene, and the specific room involved was not located. The caller returned and the involved room was determined.
In the room, a deceased adult male was found. Detectives responded and are confirming the identity of the deceased. Next of kin notifications have not been made at this point.
Detectives are investigating the incident and at this point, the death is considered suspicious.
Additional information is not expected to be released until late Tuesday afternoon, (12/27/11) due to the scene needing to be processed and other investigative follow up to be conducted.
