OpenFate, the dynamic winners of the 2010 Salem Public Library Battle of the Bands return to the Loucks Auditorium stage Friday to play a showcase concert.

Bend-based OpenFate wowed the audience and walked away with the win in the 6th annual Battle of the Bands. This three-member band rocks their own brand of alternative music, turning 12 years experience into a crowd-pleasing, high-energy sound. Rich Katz is the lead on guitar/vocals, Jason Johnson is the bass guitarist/backup vocalist and Tim Price is the drummer. Each is a serious musician with a passion to share their music with everyone they meet. Performing every chance they get, OpenFate is gaining momentum.
