If you have a blog and a Twitter account, this is a must. There's a site called Twitterfeed.com that will take a feed from your blog and post it onto Twitter under your account. The post on Twitter will have a link back to your blog. If you're trying to get more readers to your site this is a great way to connect to people who are already online. It's also a great way to measure how attractive your posts are to other people. Twitterfeed will provide you with data of how many people have clicked onto the link that leads to your site. For instance, this post will become a Twitter tweet with a link back here. When someone clicks on the "bit.ly" link, Twitterfeed counts how much traffic passed through that link.
With this data you can get a rough measurement of what other people are interested in. You might be surprised what gets clicked on. I was tipped off to this idea by Kristopher Ives a local web developer. You can follow his twitter here. http://twitter.com/kristopherives
Once you get this going, you can optimize your Twitter account to find people with interest that match your own. That post coming soon.
Excellent tip.
ReplyDeleteMay I re-post it on my PamHawk.com blog?
(With full credits to you and your links, of course.)
