On September 20th at 8:13 p.m., Salem Police responded to the "Top to Bottom" Clothing Store located at 2717 Lancaster Dr NE on a report of an Armed Robbery that just occurred. It was reported that a Hispanic male wearing a black hoodie and a bandanna covering his face had just robbed the store at gunpoint and fled on foot from the location.

As officers were responding to the store, it was learned that store employees were chasing the suspect. A Salem Police Office observed the suspect running on Lancaster Dr NE near Wolverine St NE. When the suspect saw the officer, the suspect ran through a business parking lot and was subsequently taken into custody by additional arriving officers.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the business and most of it was located nearby where the suspect was taken into custody along with the bandanna the suspect was wearing. The gun was not located. A small amount of methamphetamine was found in the suspect's possession.

The suspect taken into custody has been identified as Aurelio Sandoval 20yrs of age. He is a transient from the Los Angeles area. Sandoval was charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth) and lodged at the Marion County Correctional Facility.
