As part of the ongoing investigation into the robbery of the US Bank located at 1317 State St in Salem on May 25, the Salem Police Department and FBI are releasing bank surveillance photos from the robbery and asking for assistance from the public in identifying the suspect.

The Oregon Financial Institutions Security Task Force (FIST) has also offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect responsible for this robbery.

Oregon FIST is a cooperative effort made up of representatives from banks, savings and loans, and credit unions, as well as representatives from local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. The purpose of FIST is to help reduce crimes.

The Salem Police Department and FBI are working together in the investigation of a bank robbery that occurred at the US Bank at 1317 State St in Salem on May 25.

The incident was reported to Salem Police at approximately 10:30 am after a lone suspect approached a teller in the bank, presented a note and also displayed a handgun.

The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen walking northbound on 13th St from the bank. A canine track was attempted but was unsuccessful.

The suspect was described as a white or hispanic male, 20-30 years old, 5'06", approximately 145 lbs, goatee style facial hair, blue jeans, wearing a grey long sleeve shirt with orange emblem, black gloves with white markings, a knit cap with a rim and sunglasses.
