This Saturday (9am-4pm) the Willamette Art Center, will be holding their annual Empty Bowls sale. Basically, you get to buy wonderful pottery bowls and the money is donated to the Marion Polk Food Share! Here's more from their website:
The annual Empty Bowls Sale will begin on Saturday, November 21! Last year this sale of handmade bowls raised $12,000 for the Marion-Polk Food Share!
Each Empty Bowl purchased will include a card explaining that this is an original work of art, created specifically for this event in support of the Food Share. They make wonderful gifts--they're practical, they come in all colors, shapes, and sizes, and most importantly, they represent an additional gift to less fortunate families right here in our neighborhoods.
Our 2008 sale was so successful that we sold everything in a single weekend! We've made more bowls this year, but there is still a limited supply--so don't put it off!
