This event was by far the most peaceful choice, compared to the bass blaring at Summer in the City and the conversational noise of Saturday Market. I was inspired by the spontaneous community art projects such as painting doors and a large circular chalk drawing. Community members brought their surplus veggies and bags for those who wanted to take some home. I can smell my Anaheim chilies, that I picked up, grilling as we speak.
Its great to see fellow members of the community influencing our town in such a positive way. I wish I had been able to stay longer. Look out for more of these inspiring events popping up around Salem. And next time, I hope to see some of you there!

Thanks for the coverage Lisa Anne. Next mural and Harvest Swap is Friday, August 28 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Oregon State Capitol. We'll be drawing a bike mural for the Oregon State Fair Bike parade. Bring creativity, excess produce, beer, hugs, smiles or anything else of value to barter/trade. See you there!
