Trader Joe's Annoucement Brings Readers To eatsalem.com

Eatsalem.com saw a spike in web hits when Trader Joe's announced that they were going to be opening a store in Corvallis. On Monday, the dining site reached close to 1000 web hits. Sometimes events happening in the community can boost viewers to a site because of people searching for keywords in a post. That's what happened to eatsalem.com on Monday when the SJ and Corvallis Gazette ran stories about the news of TJ's opening in the college town to our south. People were searching "trader joe's corvallis" and discovering our little review site. I've seen this happen before on eatsalem.com whenever a news story happens about the bikini barista. A post that I wrote long ago called "Coffee Wars and the Bikini Barista" always seems to generate web traffic whenever a newspaper or tv station does a story on them. Putting searchable keywords in post titles is a good way to increase traffic to a blog.
