"Unique visitors" to the salemites.com sites has increased greatly in the last week or so thanks to a couple of factors. Friday, the salemites.com scrolling widget was viewed by 549 "uniques," 552 on Tuesday. A big part of that new traffic can be credited to the "Blogwarming Party" going on at
The Adventures of Pam and Frank site. Pam has been attracting lots of readers to her site by offering daily events including recipes, door prizes and online activities. The other factor is the "Salem Art Fair 2009," going on this weekend, which has been a popular search, bringing lots of new people to salemites.com.
Lisa Anne wrote a
post on this site last week talking about her anticipation of the Bush Park event and people started discovering the site when they put those words into search engines. Yesterday, over 132 unique visitors saw the salemites.com plain widget. 60% of them saw it on salemites.com.
It's nice having these noticeable increases in web traffic. The trick is keeping the people interested and coming back. With the variety of voices here, there is plenty of entertaining stuff for people to read. This increase in traffic can be credited to everyone's unique insight into the community that can't be found anywhere else. Keep up the good work.
