KMUZ 88.5 Community Radio

Here's what you gotta do the next time you get in your car. Find an empty preset on the FM band of your in dash radio. (If all the presets are full, find a station on there that has a lousy signal. Like that fuzzy indie rock channel broadcasting from some small town college radio station.) Tune the dial to 88.5 and preset that frequency into your lineup. There's nothing on that channel yet, but soon you will hear local voices. A group of hard working folks in Salem are raising money and purchasing equipment to set up a non-commercial community radio station at the Mission Mill. Read the details here. The station expects to be on the air in 2011. Check into that frequency frequently to hear the airwaves in Salem bristle with life.

Salemites.com is all about encouraging local voices to speak up and spread the word about what is happening in our town. With the power of the internet combined with the talent and creativity of people in our community, we can help define what Salem is all about. If you would like to promote the efforts of this soon to be broadcasting station, you can put the animation on your site. Just paste the following HTML into an HTML widget on your page.

For Blogger blogs, do this:
  • Copy the following code.
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="300" height="224" align="right">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="movie" value="VideoTest1.swf" />

    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" />
    <embed src="http://all-digital.net/KMUZ/KMUZAdd.swf" width="300" height="224" align="right" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
  </embed></object>
  • Go to your "dashboard"
  • Find the blog you want to put it on and click "design"
  • Click on "add a gadget"
  • Select "HTML/Javascript" and paste the code in the content section and hit "save."
If the animation is too big to fit on your site you can adjust the width and height of the animation as long as you maintain the aspect ratio. Here's code for a smaller size:

<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="180" height="140" align="right">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="movie" value="VideoTest1.swf" />

    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" />
    <embed src="http://all-digital.net/KMUZ/KMUZAdd.swf" width="180" height="140" align="right" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
  </embed></object>
