Volunteer actors from Salem's own Pentacle Theatre will visit Salem Public Library in December to spread holiday cheer at a special evening edition of the Library's Grown-Up Storytime.
Readers Michael Collins, Tom Wrosch, Claire Diehl, and Kevin Newland Scott will share four Christmastime tales that celebrate the joys of the season.
The reading will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 15 in Loucks Auditorium at Salem Public Library, 585 Liberty St. SE. The event is free and open to the public with seating on a first-come, first-seated basis.
Stories included in the evening event are:
- The Christmas chapter from "Little House in the Big Woods" by Laura Ingalls Wilder
- "Ice Fishing" by Garrison Keillor
- "In the Bleak Midwinter" by Bailey White
- "The Tailor of Gloucester" by Beatrix Potter
Stories at Grown-Up Storytime are intended for an audience of grown-ups, but are suitable for younger listeners with good attention spans.
The program is free with seating on a first-come, first-seated basis. More information is available from 503-588-6088 or www.salemlibrary.org.
