If you follow the local newspaper online, you've noticed the amount of video production the Statesman Journal has been doing. At just about every news story, they are there with a video camera along with a writer and still photographer. Chris Hagan from the paper made this video and posted it on Youtube. What do you think of the paper keeping up with modern forms of communication?
I am all for more getting more news from different mediums. I'm also surprised that Salem doesn’t have a local news station or progressive radio station. I despise watching our “local” Portland weather only to see that Salem has been cropped out from the map. Poor City of Salem.
ReplyDeleteI always look for Salem on the weather maps too. I can tell you as an employee of KATU that we always have Salem on the map and we always cover Salem during significant weather. We are also the only station with a full time crew in the capitol city covering this city and the surrounding areas. Salem doesn't have a network TV station because we are in the Portland market. It's kind of a catch 22. Hope that helps.
